Approved Supervisor Course

instruction and 15 hours of interactive experience commensurate with LPC Board requirements for those seeking qualification as Board-Approved LMFT Supervisors.  Faculty are dually licensed with years of experience as clinicians, supervisors, and as members of the LPC Board of Examiners.

This intensive program of study provides thirty (30) clock hours of training in supervision for LMFT Registered Supervisor Candidates with an optional twenty-five (25) hour track for participants seeking board approval as LPC Supervisors. The twenty-five hour track meets the minimum requirement established by the Louisiana LPC Board of Examin-

ers for those applying for qualification as a Board Approved LPC Supervisor.  The thirty-hour track provides an integrated 15 hours of didactic

Course Content & Format

Scheduled over two weekends in June and July, the Approved Supervisor Course

offers an overview of the RRI Meta-Model of clinical supervision designed to equip qualified 

clinicians to provide effective clinical supervision in any theoretical orientation.  Faculty will utilize peer interaction, reflective reading assignments, modeling, and lecture to provide participants with a tightly integrated learning experience that covers topics like helping

supervises develop an ethical framework, models of problem formation and problem

resolution, cross-cultural communication, developing a spiritual framework for clinical practice, and much more.  The Approved Supervisor Course offers two tracks, one for LPCs that are seeking qualification as Approved Supervisors and one for LMFT Supervisor Candidates who are completing their supervision-of-supervision requirements.  The Approved Supervisor Course also counts toward CE requirements for licensure renewal for LPCs and LMFTs.

Reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis.  Upon registration, participants will be provided with a password that will allow them to access detailed descriptions of each module, all handouts, reading assignments for each module, and course updates from the faculty (see below).
